Friends of the Library

The purpose of a Friends of the Library is to support the libraries throughout the Waitaki District, to advocate for them and institute new initiatives and activities to serve their diverse communities.

Focus areas include –
• The support of seniors and lifelong learning.
• Pasifika peoples
• Tangata Whenua
• Migrants and newcomers to the District
• Continued (and improvements to) collaboration with other organisations
• Fundraising to support library programmes

The Friends of the Library is soon to be constituted as an incorporated society to facilitate fundraising possibilities. Free book rentals will be available to all Friends of the Library members.
