Speaker for Geopark talk on Palentology, Henry Gard

Waitaki Valley - a paleontologist's paradise

A Waitaki Whitestone Aspiring Global Geopark Talk.

This month's presenter is Henry Gard, a Senior Laboratory and Collection Technician with GNS Science.  His key roles are preparing microfossils and curating part of the National Paleontology Collection.  He grew up in Duntroon and studied geology and palentology at the Universtiy of Otago.  Henry also works on fossil mollusc shells.

Henry's presentation will focus on the Waitaki Valley, with its many exposures of ancient marine rocks and fossils.  These fossil discoveries have paleontological significance around some of the aspiring geopark's sites.
