Origins: The UC Christchurch Youth Orchestra

The UC Christchurch Youth Orchestra will present “Origins” at the Oamaru Opera House – a full programme of well-known works from the orchestral and wind band repertoire. “Origins”

The orchestra will be conducted by Helen Renaud and will be performing a wide range of music inspired by Folksong. As well as performing some much-loved repertoire for full orchestra, the CYO will divide into string orchestra and concert band to perform music works for different combinations. The programme will include Orpheus in the Underworld by Offenbach, the English Folk Song Suite by Vaughan-Williams, Grieg’s Norwegian Airs for Strings, the wonderful Vlatava from Ma Vlast by Smetana and a few movements from the well-known Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky.

The Oamaru Opera House TicketDirect box office is open Mon to Fri 10am to 4pm and Sat 10am to 1pm. The box office and the Opera House Bar & Cafe is open 1 hour prior to the show commencing and during interval. Please call 03 433 0770 if you require wheelchair seating.
