An exhibition of musical instruments from both 'found materials' and materials that 'appear to have lost their way'.
Jane Venis is a sculptor, musician and installation artist living in Dunedin New Zealand. As part of her practice she creates musical instruments from re-purposed or unexpected materials.
Many of her instruments are highly impractical and reference the Japanese art of Chindogu: 'products that have been freed from the chains of usefulness' (Kawakami, 1995)
Event: Artist's talk/performance and Launch of exhibition - Friday 13 May at 6.00pm
