Euan Macleod: Painter

Macleod.JPG

Euan Macleod was born in Christchurch and trained at the Canterbury School of Art.  Based in Sydney Macleod constantly returns to New Zealand to make art. This exhibition features works inspired by the Bay of Plenty, Lyttelton Harbour, the Southern Alps, and the Australian landscape.

Macleod's works explore the relationship between the human body and environment, youth and aging and the process of memory and forgetting. Dense, textured and sculptural the viewing of Macleod’s work is an intensely physical experience.

This exhibition features 39 works spanning the period 1984 to 2012 and is the first major survey of Macleod's work to tour in New Zealand

An exhibition curated by Gregory O’Brien. Toured by Exhibition Services Tours.
