This exhibition by the North Otago Photographic Society provides members with the opportunity to show their work with the Waitaki community in a facility which celebrates artistic endeavour.
There has never been a time when life’s events and people, landscapes and the natural world has been so extensively researched. Almost everyone carries a phone with camera capable of capturing quality images which can be instantly uploaded to Facebook or other photo sharing sites.
However not everyone taking a photo would consider themselves photographers. Photographers endeavour to add an artist element to the image either through composition, the use of light, shapes and/or colour. The modern photographer will often employ an editing programme such as Photoshop or Lightroom to further enhance the image in order to spark an emotional response from the viewer. As club members we strive to express our view of the world – AS WE SEE IT.
