This exhibition has been created specifically for children and families, with hands-on activities to explore the Māori alphabet. Fifteen letters of the Māori alphabet are interpreted through a playful mixture of treasured taoka Māori with artworks from the Forrester Gallery and Te Whare Taoka o Waitaki, Waitaki Museum.
The exhibition was designed by Rotorua Museum and has been a touring exhibition in Aotearoa since 2017. We are using the exhibition concept and design work by artist Kereama Taepa (Te Arawa, Te Atiawa) alongside our collection.
